Transfer Factors®

In 1996, 4Life Chief Executive Officer David Lisonbee came across a patent for the extraction of transfer factors. Abstracts: Patients. From April 1974 to January 1999, using transfer factors produced in our laboratories, we treated a total of 1647 patients (pts) suffering from persistent viral infections viz. hepatitis, herpes, herpes zoster, giant condyloma acuminatum, conjunctivitis, herpes keratitis and keratouveitis, (439 pts), cancer, viz. Prostate, lung, renal metastatic, transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder (TCCB), EBV-related naso-pharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), gastro-intestinal (GIT), ovary, uterus, Burkitt´s lymphoma, breast, glioblastoma (643 pts), recurrent cystitis and candidiasis (287 pts), chronic fatigue syndrome (74pts.), AIDS (51 pts) and/or various congenital and(/or autoimmune disorders, e.g. retinitis pígmentosa, chorioretinitis, uveitis, Bechcet´s syndrome and Lapeyronie´s disease (153 pts).

Methods. Transfer factors were extracted from buffy-coats of blood donors or produced in vitro using lymphoblastoid cell lines and, in this case, it was specific for one of the following: HSV, hepatitis B virus, candida albicans, HPV, HHV-6, varicella-zoster, HIV. In most cases, transfer factors were the only treatment. However in several cancer and SIDS patients it was included, in a strategy of immune-modulation, as an adjuvant of chemotherapy (Burkitt´s lymphoma), surgery and radiotherapy (NPC, lung carcicoma, GIT, ovary, uterus, breast, breast, glioblastoma), hormone therapy (metastatic carcinima, GIT, ovary, uterus, breast, glioblastoma), hormone therapy (metastatic prostate cancer), trans-urethral resection and complement-fixing anti-tumor antibodies, interlukin-2 (IL-2) a nd interferon-alpha-2ª (a-IFN) instillation in the urinary bladder for the immunoprophalaxis of TCCB, IL-2 and a_IFN for metastatic renal cancer, and antiretroviral therapy for AIDS. The duration of the treatment ranged from 6 to 127 months. Transfer factors were administered i.m. or orally. In 279 patients with recurrent ocular disease (139 herpes keratitis, 47 kerato-uveitis, and 93 uveitis) HSV-specific TF was orally administered for at least 3 months with a mean duration of 687 days, whereas the entire follow-up period was 365913 before and 191772 days after the transfer factors treatment.

Results. A statistically significant increase of survival and decrease of the frequency of tumor relapses compared to the control groups was observed in cancer patients (P<0.001). ri="100xN">

Hepatitis C and Transfer Factors

“Kim is a 37-year-old father of 4 children with advanced Hepatitis C, facing a long and expensive therapy with Interferon, a therapy fraught with many side effects. Kim decided to give the immune boosting capabilities of transfer factors and enhanced transfer factors a chance to aid his own body’s abilities to fight off viral infection, before he started this Interferon. Although his results are still preliminary and very early, thus far Kim has had very encouraging results. After 4-5 months of fairly consistent use of transfer factors and enhanced transfer factors, Kim’s liver function tests have improved dramatically and at times are within normal limits. He FEELS so much better and the complicating factors of gastroesophageal reflux (acid reflux) and constipation are now totally resolved. He has voluntarily stopped all of his reflux and bowel medications. His energy levels have increased and remain high, as long as he takes his immune boosters regularly. He too looks forward to sharing this experience with others with Hep C and the physicians who treat these challenged people. We wish Kim well in his goals of healing himself and others with 4LR.”

Kim’s story in his own words 6/29/99:

I have a liver disease that is Hepatitis C, chronic hepatitis now. What comes along with that is a lot of problems with your digestive system, fatigue, and a lot of bowel problems. I have been fighting this thing for about a year, taking different drugs for my stomach for the acid reflux, controlling diarrhea and things like that. It was really a losing battle. I saw the ads for the enhanced transfer factors, and said why not because I had tried a lot of vitamins and herbs and tried a lot of things, and said why not try this. I went ahead and got it and I was pretty sick when I got it too. I just kept taking it and kept taking it and I started feeling better. It came day by day and especially with the chronic fatigue. A lot of days it was just absolutely everything you could do to get out of the bed, just to do the simplest things. I noticed I started getting more energy and then I noticed my stomach was not hurting as bad. I kept taking it and kept taking it and I noticed I was not having to take things to control my bowels as much. It just kept getting better and better and better. I got up to where I felt like getting outside and mowing on my lawn. I was getting out driving around and people were looking at me and saying, “You are looking good!” and saying, “You look like you are feeling better.” And I said, “Yeah, I do feel better.” They asked me why and I told them I tried this stuff and it seems to be working. I got to where I was just taking the enhanced transfer factors and I also went and had my liver enzymes (checked) because that is a big thing when you have this disease. One month it was reading 300. After being on this for almost three weeks it dropped it down from 300 to 194 and that is a big significant drop. It just got me all excited and everything and feeling so good I just cannot say enough good things about it. I made one mistake. I ran out of it and that was my mistake, but I will not run out any more for sure. Anyone out there that has chronic fatigue and things of that nature, this definitely helps you.

Thirty-seven year-old male with Hepatitis C has shown documented improvement of liver function (by lab testing) after 2 ½ weeks of enhanced transfer factors, 2 capsules 3 times daily. He reports “greater energy, much improved acid reflux, and improved bowel function.”

An experience with HIV: Kenny’s Story

An early success with Immune Boosting naturally in a young man with HIV. KG is a 20 year old with Hemophilia who contracted HIV many years ago from “dirty” clotting factors used to treat his Hemophilia. KG has been on many regimens for his HIV, including most recently (within the past year), an experimental regimen with no positive response. If anything, he suffered from many of the side effects of retro-viral therapy. Five months ago, KG started a high dose regimen of transfer factors (3 caps 3 times daily) and enhanced transfer factors (2 caps 3 times daily), concurrent with his experimental therapy. He also came to us with very exciting news in 9/99: he has a ZERO viral count and an increasing, now close to normal CD4 count of 475!!! Is Kenny out of the woods completely? No, but he is now well on his way to possibly being disease free. Kenny is a peer counselor and educator for HIV/AIDS and he is now spreading the word about transfer factors to members of the AIDS community. Transfer Factors Support in Malignancy in Childhood

ID is an eleven-year-old with a complex leukemia history. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at age 2 with a relapse several years after chemotherapy. Next came a bone marrow transplant and THREE more relapses after the transplant. To add insult to injury, the last relapse was diagnosed as Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia, a VERY difficult cancer to treat. On to a very toxic course of chemotherapy and a slow definitive road to remission. ID was started on transfer factors initially at month 5 of chemotherapy to help support his immune function and hopefully, reduce the chances of infectious complications. Enhanced transfer factors were added 2 months later. His oncologist (my medical partner) has been very pleased and impressed with the results. First, ID “breezed through his therapy” tolerating very low blood counts, with no febrile (or infectious) episodes, and always in very good spirits. When last seen in early 11/99, ID was “thriving” and continues in full remission, with no infectious disease, enjoying a full life as a vigorous 11-year-old school kid. The “way Life should be.” How have transfer factors impacted this young man? It most likely spared him the life-threatening complications of infectious disease. It apparently improved his tolerance of a very toxic course of chemotherapy. And it may be helping him in his daily immune fight against relapse and infectious stresses. Unquestionably, the fact that ID is alive is a miracle, one dictated by a “Higher Authority”: the quality of his life may just be because of immune boosting with 4LR products… And his spirit and his will to live.

Follow-ups On Continuing "Victories"

Update (Winter 2000):

As many of you will remember, we introduced Kenny, a hemophiliac young man who was diagnosed as HIV positive ten years ago. After many years of experimental meds, Kenny started taking transfer factors and enhanced transfer factors in high doses some 9 months ago. We announced his first ZERO viral count and almost normalized CD4 (white blood count) in our last QV newsletter. Now three months later, he has had repeated counts of ZERO HIV viral counts and a normal CD4 count. And continues to be infection-free! You may have seen Kenny's story in the November issue of Teen People Magazine. Now Kenny is sharing his extraordinary experience with others who suffer with HIV disease. Amazing what the immune-boosting power of transfer factors and enhanced transfer factors can do! As for Kim, our father our 37-year-old, father of four with Hepatitis C, he continues to very well, feeling stronger every day with virtually no GI problems whatsoever. We await his last set of liver function tests. ID, our 11-year-old with leukemia, continues in full remission, taking transfer factors and enhanced transfer factors daily, and again, with no infectious insults along the way. He attends school daily and lives the life of a normal, healthy school-aged child. Need we say more?

An Experience With Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis

Let me introduce Jessica, a beautiful 8-year-old girl with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, diagnosed when she was 4 years old. Jessica presented to our office in 1996 with bone pain and multiple swollen painful joints, particularly her ankles. She was sent to a Rheumatology expert because of a high suspicion of JRA. The diagnosis was confirmed and she was started on a complex therapy of multiple medications, including Naproxyn, Indocin, and Methotrexate. She had a marginal response to initial therapy with some improvement in function, but she could still not "be a normal child", active in sports and dance without daily pain and discomfort. We introduced her mother to the concept of transfer factors and the Fibro products. After some education and research, she decided to give it a try. And after some practice, Jessica learned to swallow Fibro capsules, (and by the way, was very proud she could do it!). Within four weeks, she showed significant improvement. Within eight weeks, we considered her in full remission, with no joint swelling or pain. And she has remained in remission since then, now a full 9 months! A Dear Friend With Fibromyalgia

A 17-month-old toddler come to the pediatric office with a complaint of three days of fever, poor sleeping and poor feeding, associated with a week's congestion and cough. He is diagnosed as having his fifth ear infection in 5 months and is sent home on this fifth 5-10 day course of antibiotics and anti-cough and cold medication. As many of you will remember, we introduced Kenny, a hemophiliac young man who was diagnosed as HIV positive ten years ago. After many years of experimental meds, Kenny started taking transfer factors and enhanced transfer factors in high doses some 12 months ago. We announced his first ZERO viral count and almost normalized CD4 (white blood count) in our first QV Newsletter. Now nine months later he has had repeated counts of ZERO HIV viral counts and his latest CD4 count of 600! And continues to be infection-free! As an adolescent peer counselor, Kenny has now started a newly energized effort to share transfer factors with the HIV world. ID, our 11-year-old with leukemia, continues in FULL REMISSION, taking transfer factors and enhanced transfer factors daily, and living a full life and anticipating a great summer. His blood counts remain good and remains infection free since starting these products. Veterinary Success Using Transfer Factors: Steven Slagle, DVM

Transfer factors and enhanced transfer factors have turned out to be the most effective and versatile products I have ever used in my 32-year veterinary practice. Here are a few examples:

· A foal with joint ill had been lame for 3 days with an extremely swollen hock and a 104.5 temperature. I recommended that this foal be hospitalized due to the severity of infection, but the client could not afford such care. I then recommended penicillin injections daily and transfer factors, 3 caps 3 times daily. The foal received only 2 injections of penicillin, but a full course of transfer factors. 48 hours later, my client reported a remarkably quick recovery with normal temperature and appetite with no apparent lameness.

· A cat with leukemia, an oral tumor, and posterior paralysis due to a spinal tumor, was very ill and emaciated. One month after enhanced transfer factors (1 cap daily), there was some regression of the oral tumor, restored appetite with some weight gain, and increased sociability. Five months later, she continues to improve, regaining normal weight, 80% regression of her oral tumor, and regaining use of hind legs and tail.

· Victor, a 10-year-old gelding, with EPM was treated with conventional drug therapy for 5 weeks and yet continued to deteriorate. At week 6, I started him on enhanced transfer factors (6 caps/day). Within one week, he showed noticeable improvement, and within 30 days, he was able to show. Since his full recovery 4 months ago, Victor has continued to show at his original performance level.

Independent Study Says 4Life Transfer Factor™ Boosts Immune System at "Unprecedented" Levels

Provo, Utah---When 4Life™ Research President David Lisonbee found Transfer Factor™ more than two years ago, he knew he had found something very special.
